Mickey McGlynn is the Senior Vice President, Product Implementations for Gemini Health. Working with employers, payers and providers, Mickey leads the efforts to design and roll out our national demonstration projects with the goal of proving cost savings and the associated benefits of drug cost transparency at the point of prescribing. Mickey oversees the strategy and operations for product implementations and leads the implementation team. She is also responsible for all provider-facing efforts ensuring that our solutions are designed and delivered to best meet the needs of the clinician users.
Prior to joining Gemini Health, Mickey was with Siemens Medical Solutions, Health Services (acquired by Cerner in February, 2015) and had a broad set of responsibilities including Portfolio Strategy, Business Operations and Population Health. In addition, she led the cross-company effort, in collaboration with customers and industry partners to develop the Accountable Care strategy for the Siemens HIT business and led the efforts to execute the strategy and associated roadmap. This strategy included support for Health Reform and Accountable Care including the shift to new care models and reimbursement methods in support of patient-centric care. She is an expert in these initiatives and worked closely with providers to fully understand their implementations and identify the IT implications.
Mickey has over 29 years of health IT experience having held leadership roles in health IT business strategy, product management, solution design, software development, professional services, sales support, marketing, operations and government affairs. Mickey’s broad experience, her breadth of knowledge of the HIT industry, her ability to synthesize complex information and her excellent communication skills enable her to identify opportunities and challenges and drive strategies to implement change. Mickey has a proven track record of leading large, complex initiatives and collaborating with a broad set of diverse stakeholders within and across the industry to achieve the desired outcomes.
Mickey was elected and served as the chairperson for the Electronic Health Record Association (EHRA) from 2012 through 2014. Working collaboratively with competitors, government, provider associations, payer organizations and consumers she initiated and led the effort to develop and launch the EHR Developer Code of Conduct in June of 2013.
McGlynn, a HIMSS Fellow, is a member of the HIMSS Nominating Committee and a member of HIT Policy Committee, Health IT Implementation, Usability and Safety Workgroup. In addition to her role as Chairperson for the EHRA, she served as a member of the EHRA Executive Committee from 2008 through 2014 and led the Public Policy Workgroup.
